Foilwright License

Version 1.0 · Pewterham · November 4, 2026

In short

Foilwright is licensed to you, for your own use. Design as many business cards as you like, for yourself or for clients, and print them anywhere. Just don't share, resell or repackage Foilwright or its designs.

You may

  • Use Foilwright for as long as you like, on computers you own or control, one at a time.
  • Design as many cards as you like, for yourself or for clients, including paid design work.
  • Print the cards you make anywhere, and send their files to any printer. They're yours, with no credit needed.
  • Keep a private online copy for your own use, protected so only you can open it.
  • Keep backup copies of your download.

You may not

  • Share, give away, sell, rent, lend or sub-license Foilwright, or any part of it, changed or not.
  • Resell it in any form: as a card maker, as a template pack, with "resell rights", or in a bundle.
  • Sell its designs as templates for other people to fill in, on Etsy or anywhere else.
  • Put Foilwright, or any part of it, inside another app, website, product or service, whether you charge for it or not.
  • Share your activation code, or try to get round activation.

1. Who grants this licence

This licence is granted by Deshenvale Ltd, trading as Pewterham ("we", "us"), a company registered in Scotland with company number SC900494, whose registered office is at 48 West George Street, Glasgow, Scotland, G2 1BP. "You" means the person who bought Foilwright.

The licence is the same whether you bought Foilwright on our website, through our reseller Paddle, or on Etsy. Foilwright is licensed to you, not sold: we keep the copyright in the app, its designs, its artwork and marks, and its look. Foilwright is © Deshenvale Ltd 2026, apart from the fonts and icons by others (section 4), which keep their own licences.

2. What you may do

3. What you may not do

4. Fonts and icons

Foilwright includes fonts by other designers, shared under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 or the Apache License 2.0, and card icons from Tabler Icons (MIT License). Their licences travel with them, in the fonts and licenses folders inside Foilwright, and FONTS.md lists them. The social media icons are other companies' trade marks: use them only to point to your own profiles. QR Code is a registered trade mark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.

5. The cards you make

You are responsible for what your cards say and show: that it is true, and that you have the right to use every name, logo, photo and detail on them. The example details are invented: replace them with your own. Colours and foil look different on screen and on paper: ask your printer for a proof before a large print run.

6. Activation

7. Updates and help

Updates to version 1 of Foilwright come at no extra cost. For help, email us at [email protected] or, if you bought on Etsy, message us there.

8. No warranty, and your rights

Foilwright is provided "as is". We work hard to make it reliable, but we can't promise it will be free of errors or suit every purpose. As far as the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid. Nothing in this licence limits the rights you have by law as a consumer, for example if Foilwright is faulty or not as described.

Foilwright is a digital download. When you bought it, you asked for it to be supplied straight away and acknowledged that once the download starts you lose the 14-day right to cancel. This doesn't affect your other legal rights. Our terms and refunds say what happens if something is wrong.

9. If these terms are broken

If you break these terms, this licence ends and you must delete your copies of Foilwright. Cards you made while following these terms are still yours.

10. The law

This licence is governed by the laws of Scotland. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the laws of the country where you live.

11. Privacy

Activation sends us your code, a random ID made for your browser and which app it is, and never your card, your name or anything you type. Our privacy notice says what we keep, why, for how long, and your rights.
